What's an internship at OWC?

An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student's field of study or career interest. An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills.

Minimum Qualifications for Fitness and Health Internships

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Human Health Performance, Recreation, or related field (state if in progress)
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must display good judgment, good communication skills, think independently and willing to take on new initiatives

Minimum Qualifications for Mental Health Internships

Minimum Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, a Bachelor’s in Human Service Studies,  Psychology, or related field 

• Currently enrolled in a recognized educational institution and participating in an internship program for academic credit or as part of school requirements

• Must display good judgment, good communication skills, think independently, and willing to take on new initiatives

• Must work under the supervision of a licensed professional.

• Being flexible and ready to adjust to different clients, settings, and situations.

• Helping with the business development initiative to bring on 5 clients per month.

• To assist with social media management to promote OWC services.

• Must have active student professional liability insurance coverage provided by their academic institution
